When the Ava was first released by Pin Up Couture… it was love at 1st sight. I went back and forth between the Jade Green and Teal for quite some time but I am so happy I went with the Jade! It is my new favorite colour in clothing!
So many fans were posting photos on the PUG Facebook page and everyone looked absolutely stunning no matter their shape or size. Since I always love to support Canadian companies, I purchased the Ava from Rowena during their end of season sale for $70!
The Ava is available in XS to 2X in Jade Green, Teal, Red and Black.
Before - Snug in the bust area when 1st putting it on.
Based on the size chart I was in between the medium and the large(36 bust, 29 waist, 41 hips). With some feedback from Rowena, I went with the medium and it fits like a glove! The bust area does run small, so definitely order up if you are in between sizes for your bosom. The shakira satin has a natural give and loosens with wear or a little tug on the back zipper.
PUG made a video showing how to tie the sash for that perfect look, definitely check it out!
I found that the faux wrap showed off a little too much leg for my liking so the quick fix was a safety pin just below the sash to hold the skirt closed. You can also have a tailor put a little stitch in the same area for a permanent fix.
After - The shakira satin has loosened as the evening went on.
The first occasion I had to wear this new beauty was to a friend’s wedding. I paired it with champagne pumps and a matching clutch. Needless to say, I received the most compliments in my life that evening! The mother of the groom pulled me aside to tell me how gorgeous I looked and she did not want the bridemaids to get jealous. It was pretty cute and flattering to say the least. I felt like a million bucks!
