I Heart You…Midori!

My love affair continues with Stop Staring…bringing you the classic beauty named Midori. I scored this dress at JBR Clothing for $116USD during one of their 20% sales.

Available in sizes XS-XL – MSRP $145USD

Based on the size chart I went with a Large (36, 29, 41). I wanted to ensure the skirt was not too tight since this is your true definition of a classic vintage inspired dress. The bust area was a tad loose so I had it taken in slightly for a better fit. The sewn in belt with bow provides the illusion of a nipped in waist without any discomfort.

The olive green houndstooth is what first caught my eye with the Midori dress…perfectly paired with the elegant cut of this silhouette. Do not be fooled, this is is a one piece dress even though the contrasting top gives you the illusion of separates. It features a fitted bodice, with a flirty peplum and a pencil skirt. What a perfect combination! The sweetheart neckline provides conservative coverage along with the little cap sleeves.

Let’s not kid ourselves here, many of us are self conscious about our mid sections and do not want to emphasize it more with form fitting clothing. That is why I have to point out that the flirty peplum provides amazing camouflage for those off days, you will feel so sexy and forget about why your were feeling down on yourself. In these photos, I am NOT wearing any shapewear for a change but forgot to steam it (Oops!).

If you prefer a black & tan combination, check out the Madison. Same great dress but in a different colorway.

This is one of my absolute favorite dresses to wear to the office. It instantly makes you feel like you stepped off the set of Mad Men. You will be receiving so many compliments while wearing the Midori, its sheer elegance is breathtaking.

  1. Beautiful, as always! The olive houndstooth/black is lovely on you. I have the Madison with the tan bodice and black skirt combination and love it. The peplum really is super flattering!

  2. Love it! It has the 40′ look I love and it is the type of outfit you can wear to work, looking professional and edgy.
