“Elegance Is The Only Beauty That Never Fades”

Let’s take a moment to pay tribute to the breathtaking Audrey Hepburn…the woman who paved the way as a fashion icon defining the “little black dress”. Believe it or not, I have never seen Breakfast At Tiffany’s but the images of Hepburn are known to all vintage lovers in her little black dress and classic pearl necklace. Her elegance transcends all fashion eras and will remain timeless for future generations.  Upon discovering Lady V London, I became smitten with the Black Audrey Hepburn Dress as it was the epitome of sheer elegance.

Available in sizes UK8 to UK24 in various colors & prints – MSRP £40.00.

Being fairly new to the Lady V sizing, I followed their size chart and went with the UK12 (Medium). As you can probably see in the photos, the dress is fairly big in the waist and I could have safely sized down to a UK10 for a snug fit. The Hepburn dress features a very full 28 inch long swing skirt perfect to wear with a petticoat and comes with a thin suede effect belt to emphasize your high waist. The sleeveless design is fabulous as the arm holes are not restrictive whatsoever and the high neckline provides ample room for a variety of bust sizes.

There is a center seam that runs the length of the swing skirt which surprised me a little since it is not evident in the photos but is concealed by the pleats very well. The material has a minimal amount of stretch and very comfortable to wear all day long. I will definitely bring the Hepburn to my seamstress to have it properly tailored as the quality of this dress is worth the investment. Being an International customer, exchanges can be costly when you make a mistake with size. In this case, it is definitely more economical to have it tailored to fit and keeps my seamstress busy.

The Hepburn dress looks divine paired with a pearl necklace and patent round toe pumps. Thankfully, no shapewear is required in this super comfortable swing style dress. Add a splash of color with your accessories to create a versatile look. How can you go wrong with a classic black dress?

Believe it or not, this is my first vintage inspired little black dress and definitely not my last. Lady V has truly captured the sheer elegance of Hepburn in their design and cannot wait to see what they come up with next!

  5. Just stunning! How is the service from the? Love the pup,

    • Impeccable! The shipping was fast and Lady V is very helpful through their FB page with questions. The pup always tries to get into the photos so this time she did 🙂

  6. I hope you don’t mind me asking this! Although I totally understand if it is too personal. I am currently debating whether or not I should order a 10 or an 8 from Lady V London… You said you probably should have ordered a 10, would you mind sharing your measurements? I don’t want to get the wrong size because I am absolutely terrible at altering clothes haha 🙂

    • Oh I don’t mind at all Nikki…my measurements are 36-29-42. There was at least an inch or two extra in the waist on me. Hope this helps! 🙂

      • Nikki

That helps quite a bit! Mine are 32-28-39… So I am thinking maybe an 8? A 9 would probably work best haha 😛 Thank you!

      • The 8 might be snug in the waist…thinking you should go with the 10 but it’s your call of course 😉

Please leave your 2 cents!
