Fabulous Frocks Know No Borders

Lately I find myself venturing into new territory and branching out into unfamiliar brands for the sake of diversifying my wardrobe. The luxury of online shopping is that you aren’t limited to what is available in your own backyard; the world is your shopping mecca! For quite some time I had my eye on frocks by Vanity Project by Limb (also known as Limb Clothing) but found they were only available mainly in Europe. When Rockabilly Pinup introduced lower International shipping rates, I knew it was the perfect time to order the Black Oriental Cherry Blossom Betty F Day Dress by Limb.

Available in sizes UK8-22 in a variety of prints ~ MSRP £99

IMG_2896Like all new brands, Limb Clothing was unknown to me in regards to their sizing accuracy therefore I had no choice but to entrust their size guide. Since I was in between the size UK10 and UK12, I went with the larger because the fabric was non-stretch cotton. When the Betty F Day Dress arrived, it was immediately clear that I should not have sized up as it fit true to size (fitting up to a 29” waist) and I was literally swimming in it. (The downside of losing a significant amount of weight is adjusting to a new size and being confident that the smaller sizes will actually be best.) I contacted Rockabilly Pinup to set up an exchange for the UK10 which was super easy and arrived very quickly. As soon as tried the replacement, I knew the sizing was just right. The overall fit was flawless and required no alterations. Even though my bust is 1” larger than the size chart measurement, there is plenty of room and there’s no excessive cleavage. The Betty F Day Dress features a crossover sweetheart neckline, ¾ length sleeves, a deep pleated skirt that flares at the knee and handy sash tie at the waist. The sash tie is wonderful to cinch your waist comfortably and adds a little extra detail when tied in a bow off to the side. At 5’-4” tall, the skirt falls just at the knees.

IMG_2909 IMG_2904The Betty F Day Dress remains true to its name, seeing as it is a fabulous dress for daytime. With the ¾ sleeves, it is conservative for any occasion and super quick to throw on for those times you are in a rush to get out the door. What makes Limb Clothing stand out from the rest, is the plethora of unique prints and vibrant colourways. The Black Oriental Cherry Blossom is striking but truly classic, and also available in red or green. The overall quality is great and reflective of the higher price point. If you happen to prefer wiggles dresses, this same style is available in the Betty P Fitted Dress. Limb Clothing seems to keep the same designs season after season but adds fabulous new fabrics and prints to their collection.

IMG_2903Already I find myself wearing the Betty F Day Dress as a personal staple at work because it is super comfortable for all day wear. Accessorizing is super quick and easy; I chose to pair it with my t-strap heels by Chelsea Crew and a lovely dahlia hair flower by Vintage Box 1947. With the skirt flaring out at the knees, it is best not to add a petticoat.

IMG_2918With numerous styles to choose from and endless choices of prints, there is something to appeal to everyone. Limb Clothing has quickly become a brand to watch; luckily crossing over to this side of the pond to make it easier for those who shy away from ordering overseas. That being said, Rockabilly Pinup offers great customer service and quick, affordable International shipping that I can recommend personally. Plus there’s a 10% off code (PP2012) available exclusively to Pin Up Persuasion readers.
