Whether you love the traditional pinup styles or more a rockabilly girl at heart, there are a multitude of fashions to satisfy everyone. I don’t believe you truly have to be one or the other, being able to dabble in a variety of styles is the beauty of living the pinup lifestyle. It has been quite a while since I rocked the rockabilly look but the Lena Pinup Dress from Glamour Bunny happens to have a classic design with a little bit of edge.
Available in sizes XS-3X in pink/black stripe & navy/red stripe ~ MSRP £96
Continuing with our Glamour Bunny reviews this week, I find it very important to always comment on the consistency of sizing. Once again, I am wearing a size Medium in the Lena Pinup Dress but I could have possibly sized down to a Small since there is a fair amount of stretch in the skirt. When wearing shapewear, I find my girdles nip off about 1″ or more all around therefore the skirt is a bit less fitted than intended. The Lena Pinup Dress features a soft jersey knit striped bodice and a high waist skirt made from stretchy bengaline. One of the best design features are the wide straps which allow you to wear a regular bra and avoid going strapless. I added a thin black slide belt to define my waist and accentuate the look of an hourglass figure. At 5′-4″ tall, the skirt falls a few inches below the knees which is my ideal length.
The beauty with the Lena Pinup Dress is that you can go from classic to Rockabilly, simply based on your styling. As shown in the review photos, I chose a softer approach which would be ideal for work. If I were to switch it up for a Rockabilly vibe, I would style my hair with lots of volume, or victory rolls with bolder accessories. No wiggle dress can be complete without the Rago 1294 girdle to create a flawless silhouette. The bright pink skirt makes a bold statement and a wonderful compliment to the striped bodice.
Although you may think a dress may fit a particular style of pin up, don’t let that deter you from adding it to your wardrobe as it can be much more versatile than you might think. The Lena Pinup Dress goes from classic to rockabilly in a heartbeat, there’s no need to be just one or the other.
