Recently Melissa from Le Bomb Shop proposed a fun collaboration with my bestie Amber from Pinup at Heart and we both jumped at the chance to show off our unique styling using the infamous Classic Bombshell tanks. Amber has been a long time Le Bomb Shop customer, where as I was late to the party as usual and recently discovered them this past year. I may have made up for some lost time by hoarding almost every colour in the Classic Bombshell tanks and now just added the new Cross Your Heart style to my collection.
My first look is a very casual look wearing the black tank (size Medium). Although I love my dresses and skirts very much, I often wear denim capri pants when I am on the go. I paired it with my everyday Lux de Ville handbag and Sketcher sandals, perfect for running errands.
For a classic day look or work attire in my case, I paired the marigold tank (size Medium) with my vintage novelty fish print skirt, vintage necklace, white belt, white wedges and vintage barrel purse. This shade of yellow is my absolute favorite; it works well with a multitude of vintage pieces in my closet.
The third and final look is for evening where I paired the fuchsia pink Cross Your Heart Classic Bombshell tank (size Small) with my Japanese novelty skirt, Ceci Punch earrings, a black sparkle bracelet and Chelsea Crew T-strap wedges. The Cross Your Heart Classic Bombshell tank can be worn crossed over in the front or in the back as seen on Amber at Pinup at Heart.
There are a few characteristics that make the Classic Bombshell tanks and Cross Your Heart tank unique to each other:
Classic Bombshell tank
* Lightly padded cups (not removable)
* Sizes S to 3X (in a variety of colours)
* Run true to size
* Unique colours: leopard, coral, deep teal green, marigold, & neon pink
* 1.5″ thick straps (cannot be crossed)
Cross Your Heart tank
* Lightly padded cups & non-padded
* Sizes S to 2X (in a variety of colours)
* Run generous in sizing (size down)
* Unique colours: fuchsia pink, jade, jailbait, olive green, purple, & turquoise
* 1.5″ thick straps (can be crossed in the front or back)
Now that I have taken up collecting vintage novelty skirts and I find these tanks are so perfect to compliment the colours commonly used in the 1950โs prints. The variety of colours available provides such versatility for any pinup wardrobe and at an affordable price of $22.50. The twisted bust detail and rushing make these tops super flattering to a variety of body types. Both styles are made from 96% polyester, 4% spandex, which could be compared to a quality swimsuit material.

Very nice pix, Jessica! Some of my favourites of you so far. I really like that black and pink skirt, too.
I really like your jeans. What brand/model are they? What is the sizing like (I might need to mail order)?
Hi Julia,
These are quite old from a local store called Stitches, a no name brand actually. They had studs on the back pockets that I removed as they started to fall off.
Such pretties! I don’t know which ones are my favourite, I do love the dark teal…and the red…and the blue…ooh and leopard print. I’ll have to buy them all. Groceries aren’t important, right?
They look so perfect with both the jeans and the skirts. I really like how you can dress them up or down. I think the marigold is my favorite, but the red is also just gorgeous. And you look stunning in them, Love!
I love how you make them look so versatile! The everyday use and then for a more retro look its unique and they look amazing on you! I’d love the black cross your heart one or even the red since they are my two favorite colors! Thank you for sharing this with us<3
So many pretty colours.but you can’t go wrong with black
I love these tops too! I’ve started collecting them and need them in every color now. They’re so versatile!
I’d pick the cross your heart in jailbait or black! Or maybe fuchsia..or jade.. Hahaha it’s too hard!
Love, love, LOVE the clothes they have! โค๏ธ
I have one of their tops…my only issue with it is when I washed it the straps twisted and were a devil to untwist, and one of the permanent pads twisted so badly I had to make a tiny cut, and reach in to undo it. That all being said I think I will buy more tops but hand wash and hopefully avoid the issues.
