One of my favorite places to shop for Glamour Bunny clothing is their Ebay Store, which is full of incredible bargains on end of the line designs. This past summer, I scored one of my favorite dresses in their 2013 Collection for a steal and quickly scooped up a few more before they sold out. To my surprise, Gerry (creator of Glamour Bunny) slipped in an extra special surprise from her new Gerry Roxby Collection; The Harriet in Mauve.
Available in sizes XS-XXL, in Mauve & Navy ~ MSRP £96.00
As the Gerry Roxby Collection is the big sister to Glamour Bunny, all sizing seems to be consistent throughout. Based on the size chart, I fall squarely into the Medium (36-28-40). The Harriet has a true 1940’s design with the structured satin shoulders with long sleeves and fitted high waist skirt. Initially I thought this style wouldn’t suit me well but I was blown away once I tried it on with full hair and makeup. Since I have a short torso and narrow shoulders, the Harriet is too wide in the shoulders and the arms are a little long. It will require some alterations to get a perfect fit for me, but those with normal to broad shoulders will have a great fit with the Harriet right off the rack.
The Harriet is perfect for those cold winter months. The long sleeves with modest hemline make it work appropriate as well. Those who love the 1940’s era of fashion will be swooning over the attention to detail and figure flattering construction. The wiggle skirt is rather formfitting and shapewear is highly recommended. I paired mine with the Rago 1294 and it was a perfect match. The mauve is such a warm complimentary shade for a variety of skin tones.
Accessorizing the Harriet is quite simple; pair it with your favorite round toe pumps and an elegant simple necklace to complete the look. Less is more with the 1940’s styling. A fabulous pair of retro seamed stockings in nude with contrasting black would knock it out of the park!
The Gerry Roxby collection is truly the epitome of classic elegance and takes vintage fashion to the next level. I have had my eye on the Jessica (named after Jessica Rabbit, a given once you see it) in teal since the sneak peak was released a few months ago. Hopefully she will be mine very soon, I’ve been stalking their Ebay store nonstop!
