It is no secret that Hell Bunny Clothing is known for their use of unique prints paired with fun and flirty swing dresses. How often do you find a lovely floral accented with skulls while maintaining a feminine touch? When I first saw the Hell Bunny Jenna Dress at JBR Clothing, the dainty red roses instantly caught my eye. It wasn’t until I looked at the print up close that I discovered the hidden sugar skulls scattered throughout. The little bit of edge mixed in with the soft floral was a perfect combination.

From all my experiences with Hell Bunny Clothing, I find their sizing to be very generous throughout. Sizing down is often the way to go depending how your measurements fall within the charts. I ordered the Jenna Dress in a size Small since the sides have elastic panels and often find halter styles to be generous in the bust. The fit was spot on and the wide matching belt is perfect to cinch the waist. The Jenna features a soft sweetheart neckline with halter straps and full swing skirt. The stretchy side panels are wonderful for those who may be in-between sizes or to simply give you ample breathing room for ease of movement during all day wear. The fabric is a printed cotton which washes quite nicely. At 5′-4″, the swing skirt falls a few inches below the knees.
If you’re looking for cost effective dresses perfect for everyday, Hell Bunny is definitely the way to go. Since their dresses are often made from cotton, they are fabulous to go from day to evening. As I mentioned earlier, the elastic side panels work wonderfully to give you a good fit and flexibility all in one. Often times I hear women with bigger busts tend to shy away from halter style dresses because the straps tend to place too much strain on their neck. Although I do find that as well in certain styles, the Hell Bunny halter dresses aren’t heavy due to the lightweight cottons used. They also have a large variety of swing dresses available in regular straps if the halter just does not work for you.
The full swing skirt on the Jenna Dress pairs wonderfully with the Hell Bunny petticoats. Accessorizing varies greatly on the setting. To take your look from day to evening, just add a cropped cardigan and bold jewelry with your favorite red pumps. The subtleness of the print will intrigue those around you when they spot the hidden sugar skulls amongst the dainty red roses.
Many of us are on a budget and are looking for affordable options while not sacrificing quality and style. Hell Bunny is a great option for those who love fun bold prints and lots of selection at a fair price. JBR Clothing stocks tons of styles every season and always offers incredible customer service every time.
Often times there are certain styles or designs that I find quite lovely but can’t help feeling they are best suited for other pretty ladies. After becoming a clothing hoarder in earlier times, I have forced myself to make wiser purchases and not try to own everything that I find delightful. This is no easy task when you see these beauties on other fans and wished you owned it too. When Pinup Girl Clothing first released the Jenny in both skirts and dresses, they quickly became an instant fan favorite. For months I held strong…that is until I saw the Jenny in Cherry Border Print on fellow PUG fans like Miss Victory Violet. Sadly they sold out almost immediately and weren’t restocked in time for my Black Friday order. To my surprise one of my favorite Canadian Retailers, Retroglam.com had the Jenny available during their incredible Boxing Day Sale. It was meant to be!

When ordering PUG, it is always recommended to follow the size chart along with the notes stating to size up or down based on the particular style. I had heard other PUG fans were finding the Jenny to come up small in the waist and suggested sizing up. After checking with a couple close friends who own the Jenny, I decided it was best to follow the size chart and ordered a size Medium based on my measurements (36-28-40). This was definitely the right call, the size Medium fit wonderfully in both the bust and waist. If you happen to be in between sizes, go by your largest measurement since the Jenny has no stretch in the cotton sateen fabric. The Jenny is designed with a built in boning throughout the bodice with adjustable straps and full gathered skirt. I absolutely love the adjustable straps since this avoids the need for alterations; something I often have to do because straps are always way too long. The Jenny comes with a contrasting grommet belt, ideal to cinch the waist and stays in place unlike the slide styles. At 5′-4″, the full skirt falls just below the knee.
Initially the Jenny did not really appeal to me simply because the solid shades were just not my preferred color choices. It was exciting to see more colorways and fun prints being released shortly there after. Seeing that the PUG Heidi in cherry is one of my all time favorite dresses, I knew the cherry border print Jenny was going to be the same. The print is absolutely incredible and I really appreciate how it’s quite different than what we have seen before with the over saturation of cherry motifs these days. Over time, I do anticipate having to remove the built in plastic boning as it is bound to warp when sitting for long periods at my desk.
The versatility of the simplistic design makes it perfect for a variety of occasions. Pair it with a cute cropped cardigan and round toe pumps for a look that will go from day to night. The gathers in the full skirt create a lovely fullness, no petticoat required.
Once we overcome this brutal winter, I cannot wait to wear my Jenny to work and everywhere else for that matter. I’ve learned to never say never when it comes to buying a particular dress…you never know which one may turn up in your closet.
